Pontoon
Pontoon is a card game that was made popular in the UK and is now making its way in the US and in Asia. It is a variant of the American game Blackjack and was originally based on the French card game Vingt-et-un (21). The objective of the game is to get as close as you can to 21 points without going over. Unlike Blackjack, Pontoon is played without the “10’s”
How to play
RULES
- At the start of the hand, each Player places a bet on the table.
- Player will be given two initial cards and will be offered to Surrender if the house’s face up card is not an Ace. If it’s an Ace, Player will be offered Insurance.
- Otherwise, Player will be prompted to HIT another card or stay at least on 12 points.
- Option to Split or double down is offered with conditional rules, especially on a Aces.
- A Player’s hand with a card valued as 10 with an Ace is the highest point. The Dealer will announce “Pontoon” and will pay out immediately without waiting for the house result.
Cards values are as follows:
- Ace is treated as a 1 or 11
- 2 – 9 are the face value of the cards
- J-Q-K are valued as 10
